Reflection 8/31

Today in class our bell ringer was a question on heart break and being in love, which we were asked “have we ever been in love” and “have we ever had our heart broke” with my answers being no, not really. Also in class we went over a poem describing heart break and letting go, making points of sadness, loneliness and learning to detach from one’s lover.

Reflection 8/30

Today in class for a bell ringer we had to think of a time we almost lost our mind and describe it, mine being a incident I had in 8th grade where a staff member took my phone and it ended up in the hands of people I didn’t approve of it being in so I took matters into my own hands. Also in class today we read a poem about someone who seems to have “lost their mind” or feels as if they are in the process of their funeral, going into depth, they felt as if their life was being celebrated due to frustration (losing their mind).

Reflection 8/29

Today in class we did bellringers on blogger answering questions about extraterrestrial life and what we think about it….. #i just got off and kindve forgot, I’ll make sure to check in with you tomorrow.

Bell ringer 8/29

Based on the video, I think the probability of life outside of earth is high, there’s no way earth is the only planet that has life on it. My reaction to seeing the earth from the surface of mars was normal, it looked cool and interesting. My reaction to hearing the sound of a black hole was that I was surprised, sounded like something I’ve heard before. Hearing the black hole did make me think though, like how do we know if we’re going to meet it or what exactly happens inside?.. This puts my life in a perspective in a way of its way much more space and larger out there, and from another planet or from space in general, we’re small.

 Worked on origin story

Reflection 8/22

Today in class we watched a short film on identity, staying true to yourself and finding out who you really are. We also went over Native American culture and learned a few things about the people of that culture. We read a short story called “Navajo Creation” based on the creation of the world and how we got to where we are today.

Reflection 8/19

Today in class we watched a short film demonstrating the importance of enjoying life while it’s active and cherishing every moment with people while you and they are here to do so. We also took a pre assessment test.

Reflection 8/18

Today in class we watched a short film demonstrating being patient, not judging a book by its cover and to go with your first move. Also in class we reviewed figurative language, Imagery, Simile, Metaphor, Alliteration, Personification, Onomatopoeia, Hyperbole and Idioms and also how they are used and when they should be used.

Reflection 8/17

Today in class we watched a short film demonstrating a young boy being killed by his teacher for putting the wrong answer when in all reality the answer was correct. We wrote a short response to which what we thought it was all about and what the moral summed up to be. The main lesson of today was having a purpose, reading with a purpose and identifying the purpose(s). We were required to read closely, read from different points of views to come up with different purposes and to identify what’s going on in a story or what may happen without it being directly told to the audience.
