Reflection 9/27

Today in class we went over how to deal with argumentative prompts, reviewed logos, pathos, ethos and read the book “fences.”

Reflection 9/20

Today in class we read the book “Fences.” Answered a question how would we approach unmoral situation and how would we let our friend know. We also took notes. We got asked what is the definition of manhood and what we would classify a man to be.

Reflection 9/15

Today in class we had a sub, we worked on a question sheet for the short passage we read the other day, “the rockpile.”

Reflection 9/14

Today in class we continued to work on our One pagers.

Reflection 9/13

Today in class we started a one pager on the story we read called “The rockpile.” I started my one pager with 2 quotes from mom that most can relate to and had a much deeper meaning to some readers than other. I plan on keeping it neutral and one sided mainly focusing on the parts of the story that were a lesson in all.

Reflection 9/9

Today in class we read a story about a father having to answer to his daughter the question of killing someone, in which he told her no. He was only asked this due to his writings and what she knows about him as her father. Also in the story we read how he indeed did kill someone while serving, but acted out of fear and treated the person and situation as a non factor after he killed him.

BellRinger 9/9

As far as war veterans, My grandfather fought in Vietnam. Based on what he told me it wasnt a fun experience, he's never really went into detail but he has said he watched people get their life took, bombs go off and loud noises throughout the whole day. Just from those sounds alone he was left with the remembrance of a variety of sounds in his head, playing till this day. He served because he had no choice. From what I know/seen the effect that the military has on present life is mainly time, reassurance and ptsd. Relationships with children should be ok, they know where their parents are, not like hes a purposely absent father and hes not going to be gone forever, hopefully.

Reflection 9/8

Today in class we took our benchmark. And also Mr. Reese talked to us about how we should be writing our paragraphs and following with what we’re being asked to do.

Reflection 9/6

Today in class we watched a news report based on a girl wakening at her funeral. Also today In class we went over the process of elimination. We were taught to get rid of completely wrong answers, somewhat correct answers next and then choose the best answer. We also went over our test today, I made a 94.74%. Congrats to me.

Reflection 9/1/22

Today in class we watched films on the poet (forgot name) we are studying. Also today in class we analyzed quotes, or small sayings often seen or heard throughout a lifetime. The assignment given was to choose a quote, 9 of them, and depict what it’s true meaning is to be. First, simplifying the quote, second characterizing the speaker (quote), Identify conflict, third symbolizing the quote, all in all to give a explanation of what the quote means and stands for as a saying.
